The olive groves at Villa Caviciana cover an extensive 34 hectares. The 6,000 mainly young trees stand on volcanic subsoil and are cultivated organically. The fruit is processed immediately after harvesting in order to avoid discolouration and oxidation.
For our organic certified oils we use only olives we have cultivated ourselves, which are pressed in our own oil mill. We then store them in a vacuum using an intricate procedure. All these stages of the process ensure consistently high quality and purity.
At national and international blind tastings our olive oils consistently achieve top ratings. Respected professionals, such as the experts at Feinschmecker magazine, reckon Villa Caviciana oils are among the best olive oils in the Mediterranean.
In addition to our organic certification, the monovarietal Varietà Caninese is D.O.P. certified and now bears the Italian seal for products with protected designation of origin (Denominazione d’Origine Protetta), which is awarded by Lazio’s chamber of commerce.
